Antonio Vidal (1928-2013), who won the 1999 National Fine Arts Prize, left 13 works, including paintings, engravings, drawings, and illustrations, as well as a sculpture, for Casa, researcher Silvia Llanes said.

The exhibition will be open until October 29.

Scholars of his work say that Vidal did not like to “take” his works out of the cultural institution, but his presence at Casa’s exhibitions and projects is remarkable over five decades.

Vidal is known for his silence and devotion to painting; his particular, precise, and direct mood; his constancy as an artist and teacher; his desire to read; his passion for art history; and his surprising foray into sculpture.
