CentroCaribbean Games colored the week in El Salvador

San Salvador, Jun 24 (Prensa Latina) With time constraints and threats from nature, the 24th Central American and Caribbean Sports Games took over the week that ends here today.

This Friday, the sports party that unites the Central Caribbean began with the presence of the president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, whom experts describe as the architect of what in the annals of these fairs is appreciated as a feat.

The feat of preparing the games in less than 18 months was consummated when the rules allow the hosts between six and four years, to which was added on Thursday the fall of “a deluge” of about 200 millimeters of rain on the capital.

The Salvadorans went down in history as the saviors of the games to live up to their name amidst cheers and applause.

I am not exaggerating, the titanic and intense effort deployed consummated the event, said to Prensa Latina the president of Centro Caribe Sports, the Dominican Luis Mejía.

The president of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (Inder) of Cuba, Osvaldo Vento, added that the sports movement in the region will be eternally grateful to the Salvadorans because they saved this event and made it possible for the athletes to achieve their goals, which are their dreams at the same time.

While they were getting ready for the sporting event, in the political arena, preparations for the 2024 presidential elections continue.

In the elections, more than 800 thousand Salvadorans are eligible to vote from abroad, one of the most controversial points that has not yet been solved, especially regarding the contracting of the companies that will guarantee the suffrage.

The latest data of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) show that 647,698 Salvadorans with residence abroad are registered, a difference of 192,302 registrations with respect to the figure revealed by the electoral roll.
