Representatives of the ministry intervened on Thursday in the forum, which aims to analyze the role of this resource in the change of the energy matrix of the MERCOSUR member countries.
On Thursday, the Vice Minister of Exploration and Exploitation of Energy Resources, Raúl Mayta, and the Director of Exploration and Exploitation of Energy Resources, Regina Salas, participated as speakers on the seminar.
The session included the panels under the name of “Transition and Energy Security in Mercosur and Associated States: the role of natural gas”, as well as “Regional Gas Integration”.
According to the Secretary General of the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE), Alfonso Blanco, the world and the region are entering a stage of energy transition where natural gas and also Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) are the protagonists.
Experts point out that the discovery of the Vaca Muerta reservoir, in Argentina, is of transcendental importance, which is why Bolivia must seek more efficient and seek integration mechanisms through the pipelines that link it with Argentina and Brazil.
Regarding the Brazilian market and its importance for Bolivian natural gas, experts affirm that it now has a new dynamic that requires greater competitiveness since there is the challenge of the unconventional reserves of Vaca Muerta and LNG.

Ministro de Bolivia asiste a reunión de Mercosur sobre energía
La Paz, 23 jun (Prensa Latina) El ministro de Hidrocarburos de Bolivia, Franklin Molina, participa en la reunión del Mercado Común del Sur (Mercosur), en la cual serán expuestas las conclusiones del Seminario de Integración Energética: Gas Natural-Combustible de Transición.
Representantes del ministerio intervinieron el jueves en el foro, que tiene como objetivo analizar el rol de ese recurso en el cambio de matriz energética de los países miembros del Mercosur.
En la jornada del jueves intervinieron como expositores el viceministro de Exploración y Explotación de Recursos Energéticos, Raúl Mayta, y la directora de Exploración y Explotación de Recursos Energéticos, Regina Salas.
La sesión incluyó los paneles Transición y Seguridad Energética en el Mercosur y Estados Asociados: el rol del gas natural, así como Integración Gasífera Regional.
Según el secretario general de la Organización Latinoamericana de Energía (Olade), Alfonso Blanco, el mundo y la región ingresan a una etapa de transición energética donde el gas natural es protagonista y también el Gas Natural Licuado (GNL).
Los expertos señalan que en América del Sur el descubrimiento del reservorio de Vaca Muerta, en Argentina, es de trascendental importancia por lo que Bolivia debe buscar más eficiente y procurar mecanismos de integración a través de los ductos que lo vinculan con ese país y con Brasil.
Respecto al mercado brasileño y su importancia para el gas natural boliviano, los expertos afirman que ahora tiene una nueva dinámica que requiere mayor competitividad a partir de que existe el reto de las reservas no convencionales de Vaca Muerta y el GNL.
