According to the newspaper, the legislature gave the green light to the project, which was signed on January 24th by the African Union and Egypt.
The plan aims to implement African policies and strategies in space through the use of technologies to accelerate the processes of sustainable economic development.
The chamber stressed that the agreement will play an important role in boosting the Egyptian national economy by benefiting small industries related to space technology.
It also noted that satellite data collected by AFSA can help achieve Africa’s Sustainable Development Goals and Agenda 2063.
AFSA was founded in 2016 and its objective is to promote, advise and coordinate the development and use of space science and technology on the continent.
