Meanwhile, the president of the Network of Cuban Residents in the region, Humberto Diego Perez ratified the commitment to continue supporting the struggle against the U.S. criminal economic blockade and stressed, “there are more Cuban overseas residents supporting a relation of respect with their homeland.”
In exclusive statements to Prensa Latina, the president of the Association of Cuban Residents in Venezuela Orelvis Reyes stated to be proud of holding this encounter in the Bolivarian Republic since it is a sister nation, of which Fidel Castro said that Hugo Chavez “was Cuba’s best friend.”
Cuban Ambassador in Venezuela Dagoberto Rodriguez, the Governor of the State of La Guaira Jose Alejandro Teran chaired the meeting. In addition, the following special guests accompanied them: the Cuban Hero Rene Gonzalez and the president of Casa de las Americas Abel Prieto, among other personalities.
The encounter is held in face-to-face and virtual format and is attended by Cubans residing in Venezuela, Brazil, Colombia, Nicaragua, Mexico, Guatemala, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, Panama, Dominican Republic, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Bolivia, Argentina, Jamaica, Haiti and Ecuador.
