In the meeting, held at the Palace of the Revolution, they highlighted the excellent state of relations between India and Cuba and expressed their willingness to continue strengthening bilateral cooperation in different areas of common interest, the president said in his Twitter account.
Díaz-Canel also expressed that his visit ratifies, encourages, supports and consolidates relations between Kerala and the island.
He also recalled that this visit took place in the year that marks the 50th anniversary of the first visit of the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, to India, the Presidency of the Republic added on Twitter.
For his part, the head of the Kerala state government described relations with Cuba as historic, solid and friendly.
The island, he said, has served as an inspiration for the Indian people and at present there is great potential to further expand cooperation.
