We praise the Lebanese people and Army for their courageous defense of the territory shown during the hostile actions that took place this June 9 in the border area of Kfar Shuba with the occupied Palestinian one, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Syria considered that these attacks are intended to undermine sovereignty and territorial integrity, but were bravely confronted.
The Israeli occupier’s plans to change the geographical nature of the region will only result in successive disappointments and continued defeats, the statement concluded.
The Lebanese Army deployed its forces on the southern border the previous day in the face of Israeli violations in the occupied Kfar Shuba farms, in the presence of members of the United Nations Interim Force (Unifil).
The uniformed soldiers took up combat positions in front of the Israeli soldiers, who are trying to carry out fortification works to prevent the passage towards the occupied Palestinian territories.
At the same time, Lebanon demanded Israel’s withdrawal from all occupied territories during the tripartite meeting at the UNIFIL headquarters in Ras al-Naqoura and called on the United Nations to exert maximum pressure to stop the constant violations of its sovereignty by land, sea and air.
