The head of the Russian government added that “the EEU contributes significantly to the establishment of a sustainable international trade system. It is being proved by the growing interest in the integration processes in the region on the part of the states of Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.”
Mishustin suggested that the UEE partners work together, also on food security issues. “I sincerely hope that by working together we will make the world finally forget about the problem of food shortages,” he concluded.
The Eurasian Economic Union is an international economic integration organization formed by Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Cuba, Moldova and Uzbekistan are observer states.
In the current year Russia holds the rotating presidency of the EEU, and several events of the organization, such as the Intergovernmental Council and the 3rd Eurasian Congress, are being held in the city of Sochi in parallel.
