Some members of the Cuban delegation stated that Gonzalez, president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) will also carry out a working agenda in the region.
According to the Convention’s organizers, “2023 becomes a year of extreme significance for this movement. Three decades after the first convention was held, Cuba is once again living a sensitive moment, with the sharp downturn in tourism due to both the Covid-19 pandemic and the gradual and constant tightening of the hostile and unjust U.S. blockade.”
This Convention will bring a series of activities over four days including lectures, round tables and working groups to debate on several issues related to Cuba´s present situation”.
