In an interview with Rossiya 1 TV channel, Peskov noted that “both tactical and technical levels of weapons sent to Ukraine is constantly rising.”
“We see that both France and Germany are presently talking about supplying Ukraine with more long-range missiles. These are weapons of a very different quality, of a quality that could, let’s say, unleash a new spiral of tension,” Peskov warned.
This situation “forces Russia to be more focused, stronger, more mobilized, and to continue what we have started,” he added.
Since February 24, 2022, Russia has been conducting a special military operation in eastern Ukraine, which, according to President Vladimir Putin, is aimed at demilitarizing and denazifying the neighboring country and preventing attacks by the Kyiv regime against the civilian population of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics.
During the military operation, Russian forces took control of the Zaporozhie and Kherson regions which became part of Russia’s territory, along with the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk republics.
The West at the time ignored Moscow’s proposals to form a common security space in Europe and prevent the North Atlantic Treaty Organization from advancing to the borders with the Eurasian giant, being this a direct threat to its national security.
