A roundtable discussion with several researchers from Santiago de Cuba, Holguin, Camagüey, and Havana provinces was carried out in the city where National Poet Nicolás Guillén (1902-1989) was born.
They discussed key issues such as “Do we communicate the issues related to music?
Rossana Rivero, a journalist for Ahora weekly newspaper of Holguin, spoke about the potentialities of video clip makers from this northeastern province, where one of the branches of the Higher Institute of the Arts is located.
“We have many people with a high aesthetic sense to make such art within art because the video clip is also another way of making cinema, and has developed a lot in Cuba,” the winner of the Ruben Martinez Villena National Award said.
The departure of some filmmakers from the country and the use and exploitation of several social media platforms to disseminate the best of cultural journalism in Cuba were discussed.
Trabajadores newspaper journalist Gretel Díaz heads the organizers of the 6th edition of the Colloquium.
