Jaishankar will start his six-day tour on Thursday, and will have a busy agenda with the aim of strengthening India’s relations with those countries, according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry.
The minister will stay in South Africa until June 3 and will hold talks with his counterpart, Naledi Pandor, in addition to participating in the BRICS meeting in Cape Town.
He will also meet with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, and with other counterparts from the BRICS member countries.
The official will meet with the Indian diaspora in Cape Town.
