Hernandez and his delegation were received by the Laotian Vice-President, Pami Yatukhou, and by the member of the Political Bureau of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (PPRL) and president of the Lao Front for National Development, Sinlavong Khoutphithoune.
Shortly after being received by leaders of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Development, the PPRL and authorities of the territory, the delegation paid a courtesy visit to the secretary of the Party Provincial Committee and governor of Savannakhet, Bounchom Ubounphaseud.
They also held meetings with the Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister, General Chansamone Chanyalath, and with the PPRL Secretary General, Anouphab Toulom.
The Cuban delegation will tour sites of historical and cultural interest in Vientiane, and on Saturday will visit the Saysettha economic zone and the Laos-Cuba Friendship secondary and pre-university school, where they will pay homage to Cuba’s National Hero José Martí.
At the end of the day, they will hold a meeting with Cuban collaborators from the higher education and sports sectors that are providing services in Laos.
Hernandez and his entourage arrived in Laos last Sunday from Vietnam.
