The Barcelona Centre for International Affairs (CIDOB) on Friday unfolded that Rodham Clinton, Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013, will speak at that encounter on June 2 .
The former US presidential candidate will be in the dialogue ‘A life in global politics’ between the also former US first lady Pol Morillas director of CIDOB, in the presence of the US ambassador in Spain, Julissa Reynoso, and the president of the Catalan entity, Antoni Segura.
The modality of an interactive conversation is not new and CIDOB pointed out that in the past it has also featured personalities from the international scene.
CIDOB was founded in 1973 by Josep Ribera, who decided to create in the Catalan capital a documentary fund and a window from Barcelona to observe international events, particularly in Latin America.
The trigger for its formation was the bloody coup d’état in Chile by Augusto Pinochet and first in 1979 it was named,’Centre d’Informació i Documentació Internacionals a Barcelona’ as a private foundation, and now it is known as Barcelona Centre for International Affairs.
