The head of Government said at a meeting with President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou that there was no way to create a new executive under the current parliament, and proposed June 25 as a tentative date for the elections.
New Democracy won with 40.8 percent of votes in last Sunday’s elections, called to renew all 300 seats in the unicameral parliament.
Pre-election and exit polls predicted that Mitsotakis would remain in power, but without the majority needed to rule alone.
