Unanimously and urgently sanctioned by the National Assembly (Parliament), the Law for the Protection of Assets, Rights and Interests of the Republic and its Entities Abroad, came at a time when plans were being activated from abroad to continue looting.
This was evidenced with the approval by the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the United States Department of the Treasury of the General License 42 that transfers Citgo, property of the Petróleos de Venezuela company, to the opposition represented in the extremist Unitary Platform.
Another predatory step by the US government was to allow the delivery of 346 million dollars to a fictitious speaker of Parliament living abroad (Dinorah Figuera), money that will be used in the campaign for the presidential elections scheduled for 2024, according to complaints from the PSUV.
The deputies sanctioned the legal regulations in the second discussion, in the plenary session last Tuesday, in which the discussion and analysis process was explained, which included a public hearing with the participation of hundreds of people throughout the country and State institutions.
The new legal regulations were sent to the National Executive at the end of their promulgation and in accordance with the provisions of article 213 of the Constitution.
The president of the legislative body, Jorge Rodríguez, pointed out that its approval “is for justice, the country, for life, the future and for the rescue of assets” and the money stolen by this gang of thieves, in clear reference to the extremist sectors of the opposition.
Diosdado Cabello, president of the Parliament’s Domestic Policy Commission, unequivocally declared null and void any action or attempt by an international organization against State assets that belong to the people.
The Law consists of two chapters and 13 articles, and will protect the assets, rights and interests of the Republic and its entities abroad.
President Nicolás Maduro expressed his defense of the regulations, and affirmed that he supports it with all his “energy, my spirit and my strength.”
I ask for the support of the entire country for this law to “take a step in the protection of our assets in the world,” he demanded.
Also important this week was the visit to Caracas of a high-level delegation of the Communist Party of China (PCCh), which held important meetings with the highest authorities of the United Socialist Party (PSUV) and the Government.
The Asian delegation was chaired by the Vice Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, Li Mingxiang, and also made up of the Deputy Director General of the Bureau for Latin America of the International Department of the Central Committee, Jin Xiaopeng.
With the PSUV, the visitors valued improving and expanding the collaboration in the binational training program, as well as the exchange between both government parties.
The Government of Venezuela, through its foreign minister, Yván Gil, expressed its support for the global initiatives promoted by China.
