After stating that seven other people were killed during the attack on the road linking Atani and Osomalla, the Anambra police spokesman Tochukwu Ikenga said the security forces freed the two US missing staffers.
After clarifying that none of the victims were Americans, Ikenga detailed that out of the overall death toll, four were bodyguards and three others were employees of the American consulate.
Nigerian police officials announced on Thursday that two individuals suspected of being deeply involved in the attack against the American convoy were busted at a camp close to incident site.
Investigations are currently underway to clarify circumstances of the violent action, which was not claimed by any armed group, said security sources.
