The decision by the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) occurred during the 216th Session of the Executive Board of the Program and External Relations Commission, which analyzed 64 proposals.
The “Memory of the World” Register seeks to preserve, have access to, and safeguard the documentary heritage of humanity.
Cuba’s Ambassador to UNESCO, Yahima Esquivel, expressed her gratitude for the decision and reaffirmed her country’s commitment to protecting and managing the documentary heritage and promoting its access.
The diplomat also recognized the teams that worked on the proposed dossiers for The Cuban Film Poster Collection and The Chapter Acts of the Havana City Hall.
