One of SCH´s breakthroughs is a greater presence in digital platforms, whether in social networks, messaging, videos and podcasts, one of SHC´s Directors Michel Soriano said at the 5th Workshop on Hemophilia and other Coagulation Disorders that is being held at the Havana International Conference Center (HICC).
These means of communication are vital to send health message to people suffering from hemophilia and relatives, according to Soriano.
It is critical to involve young people in this matter, many of them must become leaders to continue fighting off hemophilia, he added.
Soriano referred to the importance of creating a group of hemophilia patients and medical teams, and that both sides reach greater interaction.
Training gains relevance when it comes to hemophilia, since patient, family and even doctors who are not familiar with the disease should learn as much as possible about it.
According to medical information, hemophilia is usually an inherited bleeding disorder in which blood does not clot properly. This can lead to spontaneous bleeding as well as bleeding following injuries or surgery.
Symptoms include several large or deep bruises, joint swelling and pain, unexplained bleeding, and blood in the urine or stool.
