The Association of Insurance Supervisors of Latin America (ASSAL) and the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), are the sponsors of the event, which opened this Tuesday at the Marriot Hotel in Belen de Heredia, Benitez told Prensa Latina.
Panels, round-table discussions, and keynote speeches on insurance issues for superintendents in Latin America, are the focus of the sessions of this Conference, which will end on Friday, May 5, she said.
The Cuban superintendent said her country had made much progress regarding insurance, a small market with many products, the official said.
One of the leading ones in Cuba is Agricultural Insurance, due to the country’s geographical situation, natural events occur and bring eminent consequences, so insurance undoubtedly responds to these losses, she explained.
In addition to the opening ceremony by Tomás Soley, ASSAL President and Insurance Superintendent of Costa Rica; and Manuela Zweimuller, Head of Implementation of IAIS; the panel “Advances in the development of Artificial Intelligence and InsurTech tools and their applications in the insurance industry” will be held.
