Thousands of Cubans carry out a Twitter event to celebrate May Day

Havana, May 1 (Prensa Latina) Thousands of Cubans carry out a Twitter event this Monday to celebrate International Workers' Day under the leadership of the trade union movement.

The Cuban Workers Confederation (CTC) and its affiliate unions call for a national messaging action through Twitter to celebrate the date, using the hashtags #ALaPatriaManosYCorazón, #1Mayo, and #Cuba, between 8:00 hours and noon, local time.

According to the call, the leading accounts will be those of the CTC and its Secretary General, @CubaCentral and @UlisesGuilarte, respectively, to send a clear message to the world of unity and resistance in the face of the economic crisis and the US hostile imperialist policies.

Although the march in squares and massive workers’ rallies have been postponed for Friday, May 5, due to weather conditions, the trade union organization invites all Cubans to show their support for the Revolution and condemn the unjust US blockade against the Caribbean nation.
