President Díaz-Canel recognizes work of Cuban comptrollers, auditors

Havana, Apr 28 (Prensa Latina) The President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, highlighted the high ideological training and professionalism of the Comptroller General of the Republic and the National Audit System, during a meeting with workers in the sector, reported today Presidency.

Body: The president stressed that despite the adverse context in which the country has developed in recent years, these institutions acted with determination, dedication and continued to search for innovative solutions to problems.

The Head of State highlighted the role played by auditors and comptrollers in the measures approved by the Government and commented that their fundamental tasks lie in the fight against corruption, shamelessness and double standards.

Díaz-Canel pointed out that the complex situation that marks the world today after the Covid-19 pandemic, exacerbated in Cuba by the strengthening of the United States blockade, generates a propitious context for the increase in social indiscipline, illegalities, crime and corruption.

However, he called to assume this panorama from the creative resistance, with talent and effort.

“In the face of imperialist logic, let’s impose socialist logic, which is, in the midst of such a complex situation, that we cannot stop, that we have to continue doing,” he said.

At the meeting, the Cuban president also addressed the attention to young people and retirees, the link with universities in the application of the three pillars of government —science and innovation, social communication and computerization, and digital transformation.

Meanwhile, the Comptroller General of the Republic, Gladys Bejerano, explained that by 2023 one of the purposes of the sector is to increase the professional training of new auditors and comptrollers and optimize the self-control channels of the administrations.
