The STF will decide whether to charge the members of the third wave of defendants in the first stage, to be analyzed by the court’s ministers.

Once again, the trial will take place in a virtual plenary session, where the judges will cast their votes in an electronic system during a pre-determined period, starting on May 3 and ending on May 8.

The Attorney General’s Office indicted 1,390 people for participating in those attacks and destroying the buildings belonging to the three Powers of government and public property.

They can be investigated for different crimes, including armed criminal association, violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, coup d’Etat, qualified damage to the heritage of the Union, and the heritage’s deterioration.

On that date, marked in national history in black, far-right extremists violently stormed and ransacked the headquarters of the National Congress, the STF, and the Planalto Palace, the seat of the Executive Power.
