China´s authorities stressed their respect for international norms and countries´ judicial sovereignty, while urged Britain to base itself on real facts instead of making false accusations.

They also stressed there are no so-called unofficial police stations in UK, as Britain press reported.

This statement comes in response to an ongoing investigation by the UK government following reports of alleged Chinese police stations operating in UK. Since 2022, information has been circulating about the opening of at least 36 unofficial police stations in the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Ireland, France, Italy and Portugal with the purpose of persuading 230,000 Chinese citizens to return to China and face justice for crimes committed.
