According to chinese entity, the chief diplomat told his Palestinian counterpart Riyad al-Maliki that China is concerned about the deterioration of the crisis and asked the United Nations Security Council to convene new consultations to de-escalate the situation.
He rejected the statements and actions that violated the UN resolutions, supported the return to the negotiation table as soon as possible, and end with an agreement based on the proposal to establish two States.
In his conversation with Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen, Qin urged to prevent the situation from escalating and getting out of control, calling for calm and leaving aside incitements.
Al-Maliki and Cohen welcomed Beijing’s constructive role on the issue and its willingness to support a process of understanding, as it did with Iran and Saudi Arabia, the Foreign Ministry added.
