Biden, Cuba and its flag

Havana, Apr 13 (Prensa Latina) Who would tell US President Joe Biden that in the first images of Belfast, upon his arrival on Wednesday in Northern Ireland, a gigantic Cuban flag would be clearly visible from his plane.

Irish friends of the Caribbean island, in solidarity with its people and its social development project, placed the national insignia on the crest of the Black Mountain, a hill near the airport, which was clearly visible from the hatch of his plane.

If the president did not see it, it is certain that some of the members of his team did, so it can also be assumed that the message of the defenders of Cuba, of the advocates against the blockade and of Washington’s hostile policy towards the unredeemed nation reached him loud and clear.

Through the YouTube channel Europe for Cuba, the friends of the Revolution broadcasted images, messages and videos of the initiatives in favor of the island and the Palestinian cause that have taken place in Northern Ireland coinciding with Biden’s visit.

They also held a caravan of solidarity with Cuba and Palestine in the streets of Belfast and went to the vicinity of the University of Ulster, which the US President visited.

Organizations and projects such as Cuba Support Group Ireland and Gael Force Art were part of the mobilizations.

Biden arrived in Ireland to participate in activities marking the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement to put an end to the conflict in the north of the island, a territory integrated to the United Kingdom.

But undoubtedly, beyond the celebration, the head of the US government will not be able to remain aloof from the calls in defense of Cuba and Palestine. Nor can he leave without accepting that similar denunciations will follow him anywhere in the world, because Cuba is not alone in the face of injustice.
