Cuba and Japan link their cultures with Hanami

cuba-japon
Camagüey, Cuba, Apr 13 (Prensa Latina) The converging points between the cultures of Cuba and Japan will return in the day of Japanese culture (Hanami), which will take place in this eastern city from April 26 to 30.

On this occasion, the MangaQ’Ba sociocultural project promotes this event, which will be dedicated to Japanese literature.

According to the Adelante website, a press conference held at the headquarters of the Hermanos Saiz Association revealed the various details of the meeting.

“We have high expectations, because the Japanese Embassy in Cuba was linked to the project and supported us so that outstanding Japanese writer Hirano Keiichiro could participate,” Juan Carlos Gil Palomino, leader of MangaQ’Ba told the digital portal.

Among the main attractions are the presentation of the book Cierto Hombre (A Certain Man), by Keichiro, a novelist and winner of important literary awards in Japan.

There will also be a film based on this work, by moviemaker Ishikawa Kei.

The theoretical sections will consist of the lectures “Manga in literature, form or content?” and “Influence of Japanese culture in today’s Cuban society.”

Hanami is the Japanese tradition of observing the beauty of flowers, but this word is usually associated with the period when bushes bloom in spring.

The non-profit Manga Q’Ba project aims to expand and promote the most diverse traditions coming from Japan, a country that despite geographical distance is closely linked to Cuba.
