The information was revealed after a meeting between the Cuban Ambassador Leyde Ernesto Rodriguez and Aleksandar Seničić, director of the National Association of Tourism Agencies (YUTA).
During his visit to YUTA, the Cuban diplomat learned that Serbian citizens like to travel to Cuba because they consider it “a very interesting destination.”
Seničić said that such an endeavor requires the joint work of agencies and tour operators until a direct flight between Belgrade and Havana is established and contributes to expanding the flows of vacationers between the two countries.
The parties agreed on the need to facilitate information and communication between these institutions, as well as to organize a visit to Cuba this year by a major delegation of Serbian tourism companies, with the aim of learning about Cuba’s market opportunities.
The ambassador referred to the current “Cuba Unica” campaign, the calendar of events in his country this year, the invitation issued for the FitCuba 2023 International Tourism Fair, the Portfolio of Investment Opportunities in the tourism sector and to the medical services associated with the so-called smokeless industry.
YUTA was founded on April 16, 1954. It brings together more than 170 members who account for more than 90 percent of the volume of business related to organized tourist trips in Serbia.
It is made up of hotel and transportation companies, educational institutions and insurance companies.
