At a meeting with a delegation of the Hunin Association, headed by its president, Ahmed Barbeesh, the Cuban diplomat denounced Israel’s occupation of Lebanese territories, with support from imperialism and its Western allies.
At the Cuban Embassy in Beirut, Leon expressed his gratitude for the signs of admiration, respect and the high significance granted to Cuba in the struggle for the inalienable rights to freedom and self-determination.
The diplomat highlighted the solidarity in the Cuban people’s firm resistance against the blockade imposed by the United States for more than 60 years.
On the occasion, the visitors offered a broad overview of the Lebanese people’s tireless struggle to recover the territory of Hunin, illegally occupied by Tel Aviv.
The directors of the Association extended an invitation to the head of the Cuban mission in Lebanon to visit the region in the near future, as part of the work of solidarity and international support.
The village of Hunin, like others in the Galilee strip, was evacuated and is occupied by Israel, which has repopulated it with settlements of Jewish immigrants from Kenya and Yemen.
