On Friday, 84 patients were hospitalized, including 43 suspected and 41 active cases.
According to the MINSAP report, 14,340,218 samples have been tested for the SARS-Cov-2 coronavirus, 1,112,894 of which have been positive cases since the outbreak of the pandemic in Cuba in March 2020.
Five of the new contagions were contacts of confirmed cases and the source of contagion was not identified in three cases.
By age groups, seven patients are under 20 years of age, and one is from 20 to 39 years.
To date, Cuba has reported 8,530 deaths, accounting for a lethality rate of 0.77 percent compared to 1.0 percent in the world and 1.53 in the Americas.
