Western powers, led by the United States, have been raising arguments about an alleged danger from Russia for several years, after putting aside proposals by the Kremlin to guarantee a safe regional space in Europe.
In recent times, Washington has appealed for China’s inclusion in the list of alleged threats and is now trying to declare it an enemy of Western powers, commented specialists, who were quoted by local media.
Jan Jires, a representative of the Czech Defense Ministry, stated that the formulations of the country’s security and defense strategy will refer explicitly to Russia and China, according to Radio Prague International.
Until now, the official documents speak about certain states and regional instability and conflicts in the Euro-Atlantic area, Jires pointed out.
Recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin denounced the attempts in the West to turn the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) into a military gendarme with a presence and power of action throughout the world.
In late 2021, NATO rejected proposals from Russia to address its concerns about the advance of the bloc to the east, with an increase in its military presence in border countries, including the deployment of anti-rocket systems in the Czech Republic.
