In statements to Prensa Latina, the Cuban leader stressed that they agreed that relations in the area of information and communication technologies (ICT) go beyond a commercial link.
We see it as a long-term strategic relationship to consolidate them (…) taking into account not only the impact they have on the economy, but also the impact they have on the national security of our countries, since ICT platforms are also platforms for political destabilization,’ he said.
Perdomo and Zhang also ratified the mutual commitment to promote high-level political dialogue and the exchange of experiences on the respective processes of socialist construction.
They agreed to promote cooperation in priority sectors such as biotechnology, telecommunications and health, ensuring China’s effective participation in Cuba’s economic and social development plans in the short, medium and long term.
