On his Twitter account, the head of Government noted that “with the joint effort of professionals in the sector, and the capacity and professionalism that identifies them, we are convinced that we will get ahead.”
During the annual summary of the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR), held on Tuesday, Marrero called to recover Cuba’s tourist circuits, provide better attention to the domestic market and analyze the contribution of Cuban tourism representatives abroad.
“There cannot be the slightest space for problems to overtake us; We can lack anything, but we must have plenty of initiatives to find solutions, transform, look for alternative solutions, convinced that we will be victorious,” he pointed out.
Marrero delved into the Cuban difficulties to attract foreign currency and access financing, and the high value of imports in prioritized sectors, as well as essential products for the population.
Cuba reported a 4.5-fold growth in foreign visitors in 2022 compared to the previous year, amid a complex international context marked by a multidimensional crisis, and the intensification of the United States blockade against the Caribbean Island.
