The officer specified that since the director general of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, visited the Dnieper plant during his stay in the city of Zaporozhye, under the control of the Kiev regime, he should take into account what that plant represents in order to avoid the collapse of Europe’s largest nuclear power plant.

According to Rogov, Grossi should know that the Dnieper hydroelectric dam has been mined over a year now, and if it is destroyed, the water level in the Kakhovka reservoir could descend, causing problems for the cooling system of the Zaporozhye NPP.

Earlier, the official reported that the Dnieper hydroelectric power station and five bridges across the eponymous river in the city of Zaporozhye were mined by Ukraine in March 2022.

The IAEA Director General is expected to make a second visit to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant on March 29th; Grossi will check the level of security of the power plant and point out the need to protect it against hostilities.

The upcoming visit is also aimed at maintaining a regular rotation of IAEA experts at the plant, following the situation where the process was delayed there for almost a month.

Following Grossi’s first visit in early September 2022, a permanent presence of agency experts was established at the Zaporozhye plant.
