Lukashenko says Nazism is at the gates of Belarus

Minsk, March 22 (Prensa Latina) Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko addressed a message to his countrymen and women, Wednesday on the 80th anniversary of the Khatyn tragedy, in which he said that the plague of Nazism is at the gates of the country.

On this mournful date of March 22, we are remembering the inhabitants of the village of Khatin and thousands of other towns and cities, barbarically exterminated by the Nazis during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). During that period the Nazis took the lives of every three Belarusians, the head of state said.

The pain and anger do not diminish over time, and even less so , when the plague of Nazism has found successors among mercenaries, traitors, and criminals and has come close to our borders, the president stated in his message, published on the website of the Belarusian presidency.

The head of State recalled that every Belarusian has its Khatyn, “and therefore it hurts when you think how many people were not born, how many children did not grow up, how many lives ended because of crazy ideas, blind hatred, and bloodthirsty cruelty,” he stressed.

According to Lukashenko, Belarusians have only one answer to the supporters of Nazism, the resistance of the entire nation.
