Bautista Van Schouwen, a 31-year-old doctor and MIR founder, and Patricio Munita, a 22-year-old law student, were riddled with bullets in the back on December 14, 1973.
The justice’s performance, which unraveled a complex and sophisticated intelligence network and did not allow those crimes to remain in impunity, is remarkable for Nelson Caucoto, a petition lawyer and representative of the victims’ families.
As long as will exist, criminal actions should not be unpunished, and all dictatorship’s crimes can be cleared up for the good of Chile, Caucoto said.
