Fourth Regional Ministerial Forum on Migration continues in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, Mar 16 (Prensa Latina) Increasing self-confidence and capacity of women, conflict management and documentation of human rights violations are issues discussed at the Fourth Regional Ministerial Forum on Migration in Ethiopia.

Representatives of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), government ministers from 11 African countries and international groups participate in the event, set to end on Friday.

The forum is taking place under the motto “The harmonization of labor migration policies in the East and the Horn of Africa: a united approach for safe, regular and humane labor migration.The working agenda of this gathering addresses humanitarian assistance and services in destination areas.

The Ethiopian Ministry of Labor and Skills stated that the forum will advise on the activities carried out to support the positive role of the network of women´s diaspora in the development of their countries of origin.

On Thursday, discussions will be taking place on money transfers, direct investment, investment in capital markets, charity and tourism, human resources and knowledge transfer.
