We are confident that the accord reached between Riyadh and Tehran “will contribute to stabilizing and preserving the Arab national security capabilities,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release.
Egypt also hopes that the agreement will achieve the aspirations of the region’s peoples towards prosperity, development, and stability, the Foreign Ministry added.
Iran and Saudi Arabia agreed on Friday to reestablish diplomatic relations and reopen their embassies in a deal negotiated by China, after years of tensions between the two countries.
The foreign ministers from both countries will meet to activate the agreement, arrange the exchange of ambassadors, and discuss ways to strengthen ties.
