Precisely, the current edition of the International Book Fair is dedicated to the 100th birthday of one of the most outstanding Cuban intellectuals.
Maria Antonio Borroto, a writer and journalist from Camagüey and a defender of Garcia Marruz’s work, presided the debates among experts, readers, and lovers of the Cuban poet, who won the Reina Sofia Award for Ibero-American Poetry and Cuba’s National Literature Award. She passed away in June of 2022.
On Friday, the Fair also held a panel dedicated to Colombia and its literature, as that South American country is the guest of honor of this year’s event.
