Since July 2022, when the first mpox case was informed, 177 patients have been reported in Panama to date, according to the Health Ministry (MINSA).
MINSA specified that out of the 177 cases, 25 of them are active cases (20 at-home screening and five hospitalized), while 152 recovered from the disease.
175 of mpox-infected patients are men and two women; and patients´ age range from 19 to 59.
Regarding immunization, MINSA said that 527 vaccines have been applied, 493 first doses and 34 second doses.
