Cuba’s Habanos Festival is described as unforgettable

23-Festival-del-Habano
Havana, Mar 8 (Prensa Latina) Cuban tobacco authorities on Wednesday described the 23rd Habanos Festival as unforgettable, as it promoted the high quality of Cuban cigars.

A communiqué from the international corporation Habanos S.A., distributed in this capital, recalled that after a week of events (from February 27 to March 3), the Festival closed with a Gala Dinner at the Pabexpo Fairgrounds.

The press release pointed out that some 1,200 participants enjoyed the night, accompanied by national and international music, dance, and even indoor fireworks that illuminated the presentation of the new products.

The company highlighted the honor of having Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, along with other government officials, at the closing meeting of the event.

The final evening paid tribute to the Partagas brand with the Linea Maestra, the brand’s most Premium, made up of three new vitolas: Origen (ring gauge 46 by 154 millimeters long), Rito (52 by 168) and Maestro (56 by 132). Each of these vitolas will hit the market in a special case of 20 units.

It was a presentation in which, for the first time in the history of the brand and the portfolio of Habanos, S.A., the vitolas of this new Partagas Line will be made with 100-percent tobacco grown in San Luis, in the Vuelta Abajo plantations, in Cuba’s westernmost province, Pinar del Rio.

The co-presidents of Habanos S.A., Maritza Carrillo, and Luis Sanchez-Harguindey Pardo de Vera, explained that during those days they honored the Montecristo, Bolivar and Partagas brands.

The closing concert featured, in addition to prominent personalities from Cuban music, by the pioneering disco-dance musical group in Europe, Boney M, with a practically new line but which under the legacy of Bobby Farrell continues to offer a unique show.

One of the most important moments at the gala was the auction of exclusive humidors dedicated to all six global Habanos brands: Cohiba, Montecristo, Romeo y Julieta, Partagas, Hoyo de Monterrey and H. Upmann, which collected 11.22 million euros that, as usual, will go to Cuba’s healthcare sector, the press release stressed.
