On International Women’s Day, the ruling political force stated in a press release that this date pays tribute to the “glorious Venezuelan woman” who is an essential standard for the development and progress of the homeland.
The PSUV assured that equality, freedom, democracy, participation, empowerment, respect, and social justice are the main banners of the nation’s struggle on this date to honor women.
In all historical struggles, women have been the heroines in the battle for their rights, equal pay for equal work, and empowerment in a society marked not only by a savage capitalist system but also by a profoundly sexist one.
The Party quotes Commander Hugo Chávez (1954-2013) in one of his Lines written on March 8, 2009, in which he pointed out that “without women’s liberation, the full liberation of the peoples would be impossible. I am convinced that an authentic socialist must also be an authentic feminist.”
We honor women as the key in developing actions to consolidate the revival of the homeland, the PSUV stated.
