According to the statement issued on Wednesday by the entity, after calling on the rioters to disperse, the police pressured them from two sides, advancing from Freedom Square and April 9th Street, in the center of Tbilisi.
Subsequently, the police managed to completely vacate the territory next to the Parliament and detained some of the rioters.
This Tuesday, the deputies of the national Parliament adopted the Georgian version of the US law on foreign agents in first reading.
Thousands of people gathered in front of the building to protest the initiative. Clashes with the police began immediately after the vote.
