“In my opinion, the United States indicated its position clearly and a long time ago, since they advocate the escalation of conflicts throughout the world and relegate diplomacy to the background, that is the answer to why Blinken and Lavrov won’t meet in New Delhi,” Zakharova said, and added:”the foreign policy of the United States ignores diplomacy and obeys a logic of destruction”.
New Delhi is hosting a G20 foreign ministers’ conference on March 1st and 2nd, a key meeting ahead of the summit scheduled for next September before India hands over the presidency to Brazil.
Senior officials from 40 countries participate in the meeting, including non-members of the G20 such as Bangladesh, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Mauritius, Nigeria, Oman, the Netherlands and Singapore, as well as representatives of multiple international organizations.
