Of all the tourists received, the most (1.29 million) came from Asian nations, while 242,500 came from Europe, 186,300 from the Americas, 77,300 from Oceania and 4,300 from Africa.
Arrivals by air were also predominant, with 90.7 percent of the total (1.6 million), while 8.6 percent arrived by road and the remaining 0.7 percent by sea.
Vietnam aims to receive eight million foreign visitors this year, less than half of the 19 million it received in 2019.
