Biden announces the US will host the next NATO summit

Warsaw, Feb 21 (Prensa Latina) The President of the United States, Joe Biden, announced today in this capital that his country will host the next summit of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to be held next year .

The great event will coincide with the 75th anniversary of the founding of that warmongering alliance created in Washington D.C., the North American capital, on April 4, 1949, although its headquarters are in Brussels, Belgium.

In a speech to hundreds of people at the former Royal Castle in Warsaw, Biden said the United States will impose more sanctions against Russia this week and called for NATO member countries’ support for Ukraine.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, the US president is scheduled to meet in this capital with the heads of state and government of nine countries on the eastern flank of the Atlantic alliance. In the United States, however, the mayor of East Palestine, Ohio, Trent Conway, called the president’s visit to eastern Europe a slap in the face, as this city continues to deal with the harmful consequences of a chemical train derailment.

Conway’s comments add to others made by members of the Republican Party, who blame Biden for neglecting important domestic issues, such as immigration and national security.
