A dispatch from Sputnik news agency reports that early Sunday the Donetsk People’s Republic denounced that Ukrainian security forces fired 40 MLRS rockets at civilian areas.
It also reported damage to a library, a school, a park and a kindergarten.
The Donetsk and Lugansk republics became independent from Ukraine in May 2014 after failing to recognize the new authorities that resulted from a coup in Kiev in February 2014.
Both Donbas republics, as well as Kherson and Zaporizhzhia provinces joined Russia at the end of last September after holding self-determination referendums.
