The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) attached to the Turkish Ministry of the Interior, noted that 36,187 people were killed and more than 108,000 were injured due to the earthquakes.
The agency stated that these data corresponds to the ten provinces affected by the tremors, which had their epicenter in Kahramanmaras, Hurriyet reported.

According to informations from the Civil Defense, at least 1,414 people died in Syria’s government-controlled areas and 2,274 in rebel-held areas.
The death toll and injured is expected to increase as the search continues in sites with difficult access.
