According to a statement from the Cuban Foreign Ministry (MINREX), Barrow made this statement while bidding farewell to the outgoing Cuban ambassador Ruben G. Abelenda.

Barrow conveyed heartfelt greetings to his Cuban counterpart Miguel Díaz-Canel and announced he is planning to pay a visit to Cuba in the near future alongside a large delegation in order to strengthen the historical cooperation relations between the two nations.
