The diplomat stressed that it aims to strengthen Russia-Cuba ties in the sphere of training and scientific exchange between the two nations.
The idea was approved during the meeting held at the Central House of Scientists in Moscow entitled “Jose Marti and Vasily Verechaguin,” dedicated to the 170th birthday of the Cuban National Hero.
During the event, the validity of Marti and Verechaguin’s ideas was highlighted, and a project was implemented to place a monument in this capital that symbolizes the friendship between both peoples through the figures of these great men, who coincided in the late 19th century.
Verechaguin was a famous Russian painter and a war artist, as well as one of the first painters from his country to enjoy recognition abroad.
